Elaine Chun

I am an associate professor of English and Linguistics at the University of South Carolina. My research primarily examines how language practices produce, contest, and otherwise relate to race and gender ideologies in the United States. Drawing on methods of interactional analysis and ethnography, I have primarily investigated multiethnic youth linguistic practices and stereotypical Asian linguistic representations.
